SRM’s Statement to Alabama Ruling

Dear Patients and Families,

We are all concerned about the pending lawsuit regarding security of frozen embryos at a clinic in Alabama. While there has been extensive press regarding the Alabama Supreme Court’s decision about the status of embryos, the event that led to the damage of the embryos is related to security in the clinic and the laboratory where embryos were stored. We want to reassure you that at SRM embryos, oocytes and sperm are stored in a locked area with access limited to our embryology and andrology staff who are trained in the maintenance of the storage tanks. Your embryos, oocytes and sperm are in good hands in a safe and secure monitored location. We are available to answer any questions you might have.

For more information on embryo storage security and the effects of the ruling on our Fertility community, please visit the following link from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health: link
