Out of Town Recipients

Since the inception of the donor egg program at Seattle Reproductive Medicine the focus has been on a three principles:

  • High success rates
  • Broad choice of donors, with little or no wait to be matched
  • Dedicated, superior patient service

As a result, each year we see an increase in the number of patients choosing our program, especially out-of-area and international patients.

Some of the reasons patients travel to SRM for donor egg IVF include:

In-house egg donor recruiting

Patients are surprised, and pleased, when they find how many screened donors are available with SRM without additional agency or screening fees. Eliminating the need for an agency saves in excess of $5,000.

Fully screened donors

Many agencies and fertility clinics ask the recipients to pay some or all of the cost of the donor screening with the risk of the donor not making it through the screening. All SRM donors have been screened prior to being added to our list.

On-line donor database

The SRM donors database is online. In fact you can see it here(Link). Established patients receive a password after which they can peruse much more detailed donor listings from their own home, on their own time.

Appointment coordination for out-of-area patients

Out of area patients can schedule a "superday" which consists of a series of appointments with the physician, donor egg program coordinator, genetic counselor, social worker, and financial counselor. Scheduling all appointments on one day means patients don't need to travel back to SRM until the actual egg retrieval. After a "superday" travel to SRM is usually just 3-8 additional days.
