Jennifer comes to SRM with over ten years of experience in
the fertility field. Hailing from Albuquerque, she earned
a bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry at the University
of New Mexico. Soon after graduation, Jen continued her interest
in the sciences and began her career as a andrologist for
a private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico performing andrology,
phlebotomy and hormone assay work for two years. It was then
that she first realized that this was an exciting and fast
growing field.
Feeling the need to live in a bigger city, Jennifer moved
up to Seattle with no job but a lots of hope. She soon found
a job with a fertility doctor in private practice in Bellevue,
WA. There, she acquired a vast amount of knowledge about all
aspects of infertility, including the laboratory, the clinic
and the surgical procedures involved in a fertility practice.
She was involved in all clinical aspects of in-vitro fertilization
such as injection teaching, assisting in oocyte retrievals
and ultrasound monitoring.
After three years, she then joined the Fertility Center at
Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. There, she learned
the art of embryology and excelled in her work. She became
proficient in all aspects of reproductive laboratory work,
including egg retrieval, intracytoplasmic sperm injection,
assisted hatching, embryo grading and selection, embryo transfer,
embryo blastomere biopsy, and especially embryo cryopreservation
and thawing. Jennifer was instrumental in almost doubling
the frozen embryo pregnancy rate at Virginia Mason.
She recently joined SRM's embryology, andrology and endocrine
assay team, with five years of experience as an embryologist
under her belt. Since the closure of Virginia Mason's Fertility
Center, Jennifer has been a part of the SRM's embryology staff.
As is characteristic of her personality and demeanor, she
has applied her extensive experience to wherever she is needed
doing andrology work at both our Seattle and Bellevue site
and working in our on-site endocrine laboratory. She is looking
forward to furthering her career in this fascinating line
of work.
“I really enjoy the environment here at SRM and am
lucky to work with such a wonderful group of people. We are
all focused on providing the best care we can to our patients.”
