Julia Aliabadi
Julia joined the team at SRM the fall of 2005 and brings
with her a wealth of experience from Virginia Mason Center
for Fertility where she worked for 13 years. She received
her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington
in Zoology. (“Go Huskies!”). She began her career
in the Andrology Lab and developed into a talented embryologist
skilled in all aspects of embryology including micromanipulation
(ICSI) and embryo biopsy for PGD. Her skills as a fast learner
came in handy as she became efficient in all aspects of the
Embryology Lab.
With her experience, she took administrative duties including
training of other embryologists, ordering supplies, maintaining
the embryology database for quality control and quality improvement
and maintaining the high standards of laboratory protocols
necessary to running a successful embryology laboratory. She
was awarded the “Outstanding Employee of the Year”
in 2000 at Virginia Mason. She received her licensure as a
Technical Supervisor in Andrology and Embryology by the American
Association of Bioanalysts in 2001 and serves as an inspector
for the College of American Pathologists, an organization
that accredits and reassures that medical laboratories are
in continuous compliance to provide quality patient care at
all times.
On a more personal note, she likes to chase after her two
small children and reading in her spare time.
“I am fascinated by oocytes and embryos and feel like
I learn something new every day.”
